The Northwest RESA was formed in July 1996 as a result of changes in the NC Department of Public Instruction through legislation of the General Assembly. By-laws and a constitution were written. Member systems drew slots for the Northwest RESA Board of Directors, comprised of teachers, principals, superintendents and local board of education members. These members of the Board of Directors, the governing body of the Northwest RESA, rotate off the board on a two year schedule. Likewise, the category of representation for the member systems rotates on a regular schedule. The Board of Directors usually meet quarterly to conduct official Northwest RESA business. |
